Spammers in our midst

For quite some time our message board has been getting hit by what are called "spambots". These are programs that randomly hit public message boards and automatically signup as bogus members, then leave their websites posted in hopes that people will go to them. Some of these websites are very, very bad. I've routinely had to go through and manually delete them as they join. Not fun and time consuming.
Okay, I think I've put the slow on the damn spambots (not to be confused with fembots) that keep attacking our message board. I've instituted a visual confirmation option that the bots shouldn't be able to get around - at least for now... Hope I didn't mess up anything. If so, let me know!
