Where's the Black Dog flyer, you ask?

Postby Tawmass » Tue Mar 22, 2005 7:09 am

I'm hoping to modify this year's ride to incorporate an overnighter at the Warm Springs Indian Reservation (Kahneeta), where they have hotels and a casino. Need to confer with the Warm Springs Tribe to see if they're open to this proposal. If they are, the plans would be to start out at the usual spot at Mt. Hood Village, ride to Warm Springs for an overnighter, then ride back the next day. We think it could be a fun change. Hoping to talk with them this weekend, so stay tuned.

Thanks for your support Bonnie Meadowes! :)

After a few concerned emails from folks saying they don't want to pay for double lodging (Mt. Hood Village AND Kahneeta), I think it's safe to say that we will defer this overnighter-at-Kahneeta option to next year, if the Warm Springs Tribe is actually open to the idea.

It does sound like an interesting change for a future ride though, don't you think?

What a great idea!

I know the logistics of moving one day from Welches to Kahneetah the next would be difficult for those token dualsporters that trailer thier bikes to the event and live in palatial RVs for the weekend, but it should pose noproblem for the run what ya brung crowd

Seriously, I would love to ride out of Kahneetah, particularly if the tribe would give us permision to use some of the trails and roads on thier lands which are normally closed to us. I really hope you can put this together, Tom!

by the way, we missed you at the party. I heard it was raining elsewhere in the state, but we had great weather!

Heya Vern,
I decided to nix the idea of an overnighter at Kahneeta this year, due to some peeps concerned about double-dipping on accomodations. A legitimate concern, so this Kahneeta thing will be my goal for next year. Would be fun if it works out, eh?

I'm really bummed I missed yer Bunny Bash - dang. At least Danno went. Next year, bud. Pix?
