Black Dog preriding 6/11&12/05

Postby Tawmass » Mon Jun 13, 2005 1:48 pm

Dan Hatcher and I went out Saturday doing recon for the upcoming Black Dog. We were in the area South of Timothy Lake and down by Three Links. Danno and I rode in sun/mist for about 75 miles - absolutely perfect. We found some gnarly trails that will knock the socks of the A riders, plus found a very cool carwash trail, uncleared/discontinued hiking trails, numerous crusty two-track and the usual vistas.

Sunday, Dan, his girlfriend Dawn, my girlfriend Ellen and I all rode the lower half of the historic Barlow Road to Wamic for late lunch and then rode back. Big fun and big yuks.

MAY WE TAKE THAT TO MEAN THAT THERE WILL BE MORE SINGLE TRACK THIS YEAR DUE TO IT BEING A MILDER FIRE SEASON?
ALSO, TOM I HAD TALKED TO YOU BRIEFLY ABOUT THE GUTS SEAT ON YOUR 650R, WHICH FOAM WOULD YOU RECOMMEND, I THINK YOU SAID YOU HAD THE GUTS TALL SEAT BUT I DONT REMEMBER WHAT FOAM.

Yup, planning on trail sections.

I got the tall Gutz seat foam, standard density. Absolutely the best seat I've ever sat my fat, fanny on! Wish I had it on my new bike.

THEY SHOW SOFT, MEDIUM AND HARD, WOULD STANDARD THEN BE MEDIUM?

ON THE SUBJECT OF THE DOG, I RODE LAST YEAR BUT SEEMED ALOT OF TWO TRACK, I THINK I WILL TRY TO MAKE IT THIS YEAR IF THE PROJECTION IS FOR MORE SINGLE TRACK
I DROVE DOWN FROM SPOKANE AND ENDED UP HOOKING UP WITH A GUY BY THE NAME OF ULI, I WONDER IF HE IS RIDING OR HOW I COULD POSSIBLY CONTACT HIM AS I WOULD NEED TO HOOK UP WITH SOMEONE SEEING HOW I WOULD BE AGAIN COMING SOLO.

Yep, Medium is what you want, or at least what I got.

Yes, Uli will again show, so you should hook up with him again, if you can.

Glad you are scouting out some new singletrack, I can't wait
What is a "Carwash trail"?, and are you going to clear the uncleared trails?
