11/25/18 Trailriding Tillamook Forest With Buds

Postby Tawmass » Wed Dec 05, 2018 6:25 am

Donna and I had to take a trip up north to celebrate Thanksgiving with her Sis in Hillsboro. My pal, Lyon Payne, was kind enough to let us squat our camp trailer on his property and I brought my dirt bike, so we were set!

We met up early Friday morning, but it was raining hard, so we met for breakfast only. We vowed to meet up again on Sunday, which was supposed to be better weather.

Sunday came and we all met up again at 'The Hichin' Post' in North Plains and then we were off to ride! I was stoked as I rode out with Lyon and he told me all about the new trails he was working on. We arrived at the new staging area on Keenig Creek and there was a staggering nine riders total in our group! There was Lyon Payne, Scott Wilson, Dave Klug, RonH, Dan Hatcher, Walt Koch, Al Narvez, John Kaufman and yours truly. The video below has highlights of our ride:

We even had a cameo appearance from Ben Baucum and Jake Meteer at the end of the day! After an incredible day of riding spectacular trails (thanks Lyon!), we met up for after-ride cocktails at the Shady Rest. What a great day! And it rained so hard the following days that my rear disc rotor started to rust - crazy!

You don't stop riding because you grow old, you grow old because you stop riding.
